Artists Statement:
“Unknown island”
In the far east, there used to be an unknown island with a gentle terrain, a few small hills, gurgling streams, lush flowers and trees, and insects wandering among the branches. There were not many native islanders, and most of them were fishermen. Such a small island was quiet and ordinary, as if forgotten by the world. One day, a group of travellers from the Westland joined forces to open a huge magical enchantment on this dreamland. Since then, this ordinary island has a different radiance. From time to time on the island’s beaches, a spice named by foreigners as “magic stone” would appear. With this magic stone, no matter how ridiculous the dream is, it would be realised overnight, or more precisely, it would be realised for one night. As a result, this island became the final destination for speculators who pursue happiness...
The artist is trying to reproduce this disappeared island in the exhibition venue. If you think there is any resemblance to actual events, then it is entirely coincidental.

" orchard"
I organised the memory of Macau by piecing together images related to Macau's history, landscapes, and people. These images were preserved through the traces of incense burning on the cloth. They came from my misunderstanding of Macau through indirect information. And some images have become fruit-like skins, condensed with the fallen branches, like falling from a tree.
