Organized by Art For All Society (AFA) and Orient Foundation, the opening ceremony of “AFA Autumn Salon 10th Anniversary” was such a great success held in Casa Garden Macau on November 2 (Saturday). On that day, lots of honorable guests have come to support the exhibition, including the chief of the Division of Visual Art at the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR , Mr. Lam Vai Ip, Program Curator of the OX Warehouse, Ms. Bianca Lei, President of the Macau Artist Society, Mr. Lok Hei, Director of Macao Delegation of Orient Foundation, Ms. Ana Paula Cleto, President of Art for All Society (AFA), Ms Alice Kok, Curator of AFA Autumn Salon 10th Anniversary, Mr. James Chu. The exhibition hall was so crowded that it filled with lots of guests and artist, it was such a great time to have fun and enjoy the moment.

Opening ceremony 

 The winners of the Orient Foundation Art Prizes are announced during the ceremony. The gold award winner is Wong Weng Io, and she will get the opportunity to overseas exchange for a month in Lisbon, Portugal next year. There are also four honorable prize winners and they are Ho Weng Chi, Leong Man Teng, Ng Hoi Teng Heidi, and Leong Chi Hou. The jury this year is composed the Program Curator of the OX Warehouse, Ms. Bianca Lei, President of the Macau Artist Society, Mr. Lok Hei, Director of Macao Delegation of Orient Foundation, Ms. Ana Paula Cleto, Curator of AFA Autumn Salon 10th Anniversary, Mr. James Chu.

Wong Weng Io, Genesis on 600 screens, 124.7 x 290cm, Giclee print, 2019

Wong’s artwork - “Genesis on 600 Screens” is composed of 600 screens, according to the real size of the artist’s phone screen, on top of the screens are the traces of fingerprints left on the screen surface, which is inspired by the daily gesture of swiping on the phone screen. The composition of the background references the mural painting “Genesis” in the Sistine chapel by Michelangelo, which was created in 1508-1512.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Autumn Salon, there was an art bazaar held on the same night.  10 AFA artists donated 10 art pieces to support the event, the artists included Cai Guo Jie, Eric Fok, James Chu, Kay Zhang, Lai Sio Kit, Nick Tai, Sylviye Lei, Tang Kuok Hou, Tong Chong, Wong Ka Long. Some of them are previous gold award winners of the Orient Foundation Art Prize winners.

“AFA Autumn Salon 10th Anniversary” exhibition will take place at Casa Garden, Orient Foundation. The exhibition will open to public from 03 November till 01 of December, 2019.
