Objective: To enable artists of different cultural and artistic backgrounds in Macaoto work in the territory as artists-in-residence so that Macau local artists may able to communicate and exchange views in the space ofBeijing.

Candidates: Artist who engage in Painting, photography, video, sculpture and installation aged 18 or above.
Period of Residence: Depends on the need of the artist, 60 days maximum.

Accommodation: The artist should find the accommodation and working space by him/herself, AFA will also provide the living and working space depends on the specific circumstances.

Allowance: AFA will offer each artist a transportation allowance of up to MOP5,000 which will be reimbursed to the artist against travel receipts(Note 1).

Creation: The artists must work in Beijing, they shall be responsible for their work, which should not involve pornography, politics or plagiarism.

Exhibition: AFA will host a small exhibition for the artist at AFA Beijing depends on the creation result of the artist. All works can be sold. AFA will also in charge of the promotion.

Collection: Each artist shall donate to AFA an item/set of work, which shall be selected by AFA from the exhibition(Noted 2).
Application: Applicants must complete the application form and submit it with a portfolio of their works (or a collection of at least 10 art items/sets), works created within the past two years and CV via surface mail or email to AFA (Please mark ‘Application for AFA Artist-in-Residence Programme on the envelope or in the subject of the e-mail).

Note:

1.  Only apply to economy class of the flight and the public transportation. Private rental car or taxi will not be accepted.

2.  AFA own the property of the selected work will become the property and they have the right to copy, publish, publicise or sell the work without remunerating the artist for any additional fees.

AFA reserve the right to interpret and amend the rules.
